   Laura has spent over 20 years as sales and marketing manager roles in the hotel and conference industry in Canada working at a number of venues including Holiday Inns, Sheraton Hotel Group, Delta Hotels and Howard Johnson Hotels and Conference Centres. In 1996 Laura became the Managing Director of the Niagara Symphony in Canada and assumed the overall management of all departments therein including fundraising, marketing, staffing, volunteer departments and finance.
   
   In 2001, Laura moved from the Symphony to join Dimension Four. Laura now spends her time between locations controlling budgets, managing and developing programmes and facilitating for clients events. She now manages the Canadian arm, continually developing and growing the business through her client-focussed, personal service. With over 25 years in tourism and hospitality service working with a number of world leaders, Laura has an inside track when negotiating rates for our clients and ensuring smooth event management and implementation at venues.

   The increase in ticket sales by the Niagara Symphony is proof the community supports the organization, said Laura Bruce, Symphony President.

   Bruce took the helm of the Niagara Symphony as its survival was threatened by bankruptcy. Since she became President in early 1997, the Niagara Symphony has posted three consecutive annual surpluses, signed a landmark agreement with Brock University to become Orchestra-in-Residence, and has been recognized widely in the arts community as an innovative organization. Bruce credits a team of talented directors, the Association's then-Executive Director, Laura Tilley, and the support of her OEB colleagues for the turn-around.

   In addition to her work with the Niagara Symphony, Bruce also volunteers as a director with the Niagara Freewheelers Cycling Club, and the Mackenzie Heritage Printery. She is included in the Who's Who of Canadian Women, and was recognized in 1998 by the City of St. Catharines for her volunteer contributions.
