FINDLAY, OHIO, JUNE 30, 2004- COOPER TIRE & RUBBER COMPANY (NYSE:CTB) has named Donald S. Bruce as director, lean engineering.In his new position, Bruce will be responsible for the identification of current and future equipment requirements for the company as it relates to expansions, new product introductions, and additional business opportunities along with maintaining Cooper's overall facility requirements.In addition, the lean engineering group will provide oversight and direction of the company's industrial engineering and lean activities.
Since he began working at Cooper in February 1985 as a tire/bladder development engineer, Bruce has worked as a senior project engineer, maintenance manager, plant engineer and most recently as manager of facilities, equipment and maintenance.
Bruce holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio, and a master's in business administration from the University of Tiffin, Tiffin, Ohio.A registered professional engineer in the state of Ohio, Bruce is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.He is a Findlay, Ohio, resident.
