   Bill Bruce, a partner in Nashville office, has been unanimously re-elected as vice chair of the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) for the second term in a row.THDA is the primary agency for creation, preservation, and rehabilitation of housing for Tennessee's low and moderate income families and individuals.

   Bruce is a member of Adams and Reese / Stokes Bartholomew's Government Relations Team and currently serves as legislative counsel for several professional and trade associations.He also practices in the areas of banking and commercial law, environmental law, telecommunications, and real estate.He served as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives from 1966 -1968 and of the Tennessee Senate from 1968 -1972.He spent two of his years in the Senate as the Democratic Majority Leader.In addition to his service with the Tennessee Housing Development Agency, his civic activities include service as a member of the Community Board of Directors of Regions Bank and as Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Parks and Greenways Foundation.Formerly, he was Vice Chairman of the Tennessee Judicial Council and was a Commissioner for the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission.He was the first Chairman of the Health, Educational and Housing Facility Board of the City of Memphis, Tennessee, and is a past President of the West Tennessee Easter Seals Society.

   William R. Bruce, a principal with Stokes Bartholomew Evans & Petree, recently was elected vice chair of the Tennessee Housing Development Agency board of directors.He has worked with the agency since 1998, serving on its policy and programs committee and representing THDA at meetings and programs of the National Conference of State Housing Boards.
   
   Bruce said his law practice focuses on housing law, especially the development and financing of low-income and special needs housing.Though he has worked out of his firms Nashville office since 1989, Bruce has strong ties to Memphis.He began his law practice in Memphis in 1959.He also represented Memphis in the Tennessee House of Representatives and Senate from 1966 to 1972.From 1984 to 1989, he chaired the Memphis Health, Educational and Housing Facility Board.
   
   Bruce earned bachelors and law degrees from the University of Virginia.
