   EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University kicker Mark Brubaker has signed a free agent contract with the defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers it was announced Monday.

   Brubaker agreed to the deal Monday and will report to a mandatory three-day mini-camp at the end of next week along with the other 12 free agents signed by the Steelers. The mini-camp will be held May 13-15 at the Steelers' headquarters at the PUMC Sports Performance Complex.
   
   The Steelers did not draft a kicker and Brubaker was the only free agent kicker signed.

   Brubaker, who was unavailable for comment Monday because he was in New York hunting, concluded his career with a stellar senior season.
   
   He was a four-time All Pennsylvania-State Athletic Conference selection and a key part of the Warriors' run to the NCAA semifinals. He made 74 of 79 extra points, an ESU record and also converted nine chances in the 72-17 season-opening victory over Bentley, tying a school record.
   
   Brubaker, 6-2, 202, was 14 of 19 on field goals with a long of 48 yards. He kicked a 42-yard field goal with three seconds left to beat Edinboro in the second week of the season and then made a 24-yard field goal to send the Bloomsburg regular season game into overtime.
   
   For his career, he is 39 of 58 on field goals and 170 of 189 PAT's and has 287 career points, all ESU records.
   
   Brubaker is the first ESU player to be signed since Dustin Barno inked a free agent contract with the Tennessee Titans.
