Barbara Janette Brubaker

Barbara Janette Brubaker, 70, a veteran C&P Telephone Co. staffer who retired as an employee relocation counselor, died Jan. 1 at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital after a stroke.
Mrs. Brubaker, who lived in Reston, was born in Roanoke.She moved to Washington and began her C&P career in 1949, and she retired from the telephone company in 1984.She held several positions at C&P, including secretary to the vice president.
On retiring from the telephone company, Mrs. Brubaker pursued a second career as an employee relocation officer with Comsat, Prudential and the Relocation Funding Corp. of America.She retired from this work in 1996.
She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America, Women of the Moose and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Roger E. Brubaker of Reston; three children, Charles Brubaker of Alexandria, Roger K. Brubaker of Tucson and Cheryl J. Hurley of Leesburg; a sister; and five grandchildren.
