The panelists had all served as mentors for MVP 20/30 Club, and Patricia Brozik, executive director of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, coordinated the process. The panel included two men and three women representing Mahoning and Trumbull counties.None were related nor worked directly with any of the nominees, all have achieved success professionally and have strong commitments to community service.
Nominees completed questionnaires and submitted resumes, which the panel members evaluated independently, assigning 50 possible points for professional achievement and 50 possible points for community service.
Numeric values assigned by the panelists were averaged for each nominee, the committee met to compare the individual ratings to the average ratings, and Brozik said the five evaluators were very close to total agreement on the top 40 slots.
