   ARA's Certified Event Rental Professional (C.E.R.P.) certification is an in-depth program for individuals who seek an edge in the party and event industry, according to Carla Brozick, director of ARA's Education and Training.
   
   "This self-paced program features course content in eight disciplines," she said. "Those in the program are required to finish three courses, pass the examinations for those courses, complete and pass the C.E.R.P. essay and accumulate a minimum of 25 qualifying points. The structure allows each participate to gain the knowledge needed to be an expert in the field."
   
   Those who gain certification "have a competitive edge," Brozick said. "Certification shows your dedication to the field and your knowledge of the industry. Customers are looking for experts in the field to assist them with their party and event needs. Certification gives customers the assurance that they are working with an expert in the field."
