   Amber "Dene" Broyles, 85, of Thornton, Colorado, formerly of Abilene, passed away Sunday, Nov. 9. Dene was born in Merkel, Texas on Sept. 29, 1918. She was the 5th of 8 children, born to George Isom and Miriam Clinton. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1937. Dene was a faithful Christian all of her life, and a member of the Church of Christ. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. The few years she worked outside the home she was employed by C.G. Conn and Caldwell Music Company. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing for her children, crafting, listening to good country music, and playing "42". She read her Bible daily, enjoyed good Christian fellowship, and loved to laugh.
