   Kathy has worked at the University of Leeds for 20 years, much of that time in research administration. She initially headed up the post award area (Kathy is a qualified accountant - FCCA) and when the pre and post award offices combined she eventually became the Deputy Director of both areas. Leeds has a research turnover of £70m and 2,000 awards. The research office has about 25 staff and they have recently incorporated European and Consultancy activities.
   
   Kathy has a particular interest in IT for research and has been involved in introducing two new research administration systems for Leeds, one bespoke and the current one - Leeds is piloting a new SAP module - grants management. She has had a heavy involvement in the RAE and led the administrative team for Leeds submission in 2001, and is currently involved in Full Economic Costing implementation - Leeds was one of the nine pilot institutions. She is involved in research strategy and policy at Leeds and works closely with the PVC for Research and its Research Board.
   
   Kathy recently completed her MBA at Leeds University Business School. She has been a member of the ARMA Executive since June 2004, and has lead responsibility for the RAE series of Expert Seminars.
