    Judy has been a Saanich Councillor since 1993, and a Capital Regional District Director since 1996.She started her own business in 1980 and continues to be a small business operator.

    Judy was the Chair of the CRD Board and during that time (after 7 long years) the Regional Growth Strategy was finally adopted.It was also during that time that she was able to meet with the Minister of Environment and have the Liquid Waste Management Plan accepted with major changes which was the start to move sewage treatment forward in the region.

    Judy was the Chair of the CRD Roundtable on the Environment and in that time the RTE was able to push for the new CRD Headquarters Building to be a LEED Gold, and drove the implementation of a Regional GHG and Energy Inventory (the first based across a region in Canada).

    She continues to be a strong proponent in the Healthy Communities movement and believes that Smart Growth in community development is a key component for future generations to inherit healthy environments, communities and to prosper.She currently is the Chair of the BC Healthy Communities Steering Committee.
