Tom Brownell, VP of Product Development Tom Brownell began his career as a student intern at Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1977, back when IBM ruled the corporate world with its massive mainframe computers. After graduating from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1980, Tom entered the world of electronic typesetting and publishing when he joined Western Publishing as a programmer analyst.
In February of 1982, Tom moved to Central Area Data Processing and quickly became one of the company,s most respected developers. During his 15+ years at CADP, Tom played an important role in developing and deploying software for rural electric cooperatives throughout the country, including a satellite communication system and an automated mapping system.
In May 1997, Tom made the decision to venture out into the world of IT consulting and accepted an offer to join G.A. Sullivan as a senior consultant where Tom became one of the first 500 consultants in the nation to obtain an Oracle DBA certification in addition to his Microsoft Developer certification. As one of the firm,s top consultants, Tom was able to share his 17+ years of experience with several companies in the St. Louis area, including Peabody Coal.
In 1998 Tom joined Ron Cameron and Bob Bueltmann and quickly became the first person outside of FileNet to become a FileNet Certified Professional.
