Rodney E. Brownell CAMBRIDGE - Rodney E. Brownell, 72, of Brownell Corners Road, died suddenly on February 13, 2007, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Pearl Welling Brownell. A lifelong resident of the Cambridge area, Rodney was born Sunday, December 9, 1934, at the home of his parents, Stuart A. and Ella Waters Brownell.

Rodney worked at Wilmot Egg Farm, Asgrow Seed Co., Bentley Seeds and for the past nine years at Rite Aid Pharmacy in Cambridge. He cooked many a chicken while working with his family doing the famous Brownell Chicken Barbeques. A devoted member of the South Cambridge Methodist Church, he served as a lay leader. He was a member and present master of the Pleasant Valley Grange; the secretary-treasurer of the Pomona Grange; a member of the Borderline Radio Club and the Vigilant Lodge of Odd fellows. For many years he was a member of the Washington County Fair Board, as well as working every year at the Fair. Rodney enjoyed square dancing, card parties and feeding the birds.
