I learned TONS because of the PowerPoint, comprehensive workbook, and enthusiasm of Bev. I love how she gives from her heart and really requires that of all of the participants. -

Lincoln, IL - April 13, 2004- Lincoln College Normal administrator and instructor David Brownell has co-authored a review of John Maxwell's book, There's No Such Thing as Business Ethics, that is scheduled to be published in the summer issue of Christian Ethics Today.
David Brownell, Associate Director of Development and business ethics instructor at Lincoln College Normal, joins Dr. Alan G. Phillips, Jr., Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership, Administration and Foundations at Indiana State University, in reviewing Maxwell's writings on ethics in business and using the "Golden Rule" as a standard business practice.
...
Brownell says his motivation for writing the review is due to some concerns he had with a number of inconsistencies that Maxwell presents. "Maxwell examines all of the variables that come into play when dealing with business ethics and how religion and culture play an important part in the process. It was interesting to see how Maxwell attempted to simplify ethical issues in his user-friendly style. I think the book makes an admirable attempt in opening the discussion of ethical issues, however I also found its conclusion misleading." Brownell thinks the topic of ethics in business is timely due to the recent corporate scandals.
Prior to joining Lincoln College Normal, Brownell developed and administered ethics training at State Farm Insurance Companies as well as taught ethics at Heartland Community College. He is the co-author of a casebook called, Ethics in the Insurance Industry: A Case Study Approach. -
