   Democrats need more like Rodney Browne
   
   The letter written by Rodney Browne, chairman of the Bedford County Democratic Party, was excellent.
   ...
   Even though his party's candidates took a thumping in the Nov. 2 election, Browne didn't whine. He took the fact that, a majority of Bedford area voters voted for George W. Bush and Virgil Goode, in stride and wrote in a rather humorous manner.
   
   The fact that he has a sense of humor makes me wonder if he is actually a liberal. Maybe it is simply the fact that he has the sense to look at things realistically. He's a retired Naval officer, I understand that he was an A-6 pilot, and this is probably why he can look at things in a pragmatic manner. Being an officer and a gentleman would also explain the graciousness of his response to the election.
