   Michelle Browne is a communications and events coordinator with the Mississauga Business Enterprise Centre (MBEC), part of the Economic Development division of the City of Mississauga.
   
   Michelle's main responsibilities with MBEC are to develop and implement the marketing and communications plans to build awareness of the new centre. She is also responsible for media relations, writing and editing newsletters and articles and coordinating special events. Michelle works very closely with the city's Public Affairs office to coordinate projects that involve the mayor and other city officials.
   
   She has a diverse educational and professional background in computer science, marketing, special events and public relations. She has applied these skills in the corporate, non-profit, agency and government sectors. Currently, she also freelances part-time as a communications specialist. She is committed to giving back to the community by volunteering her skills and experience to various non-profit organizations and projects. Michelle credits her career development to being self-motivated, focussed and committed to her goals.
   
   Michelle holds a Bachelor degree from Concordia University and is a graduate of Ryerson Polytechnic University's Public Relations Certificate program. She is an active member of the Canadian Public Relations Society's web team and is also a member of the International Association of Business Communicators.
