In 1996, as President of the Nashville chapter of the Society for Design Administration, Michelle Browne chaired the first > Competition to be held in Tennessee. Under Ms. Browne's leadership, the Nashville event was such a success that the following year Memphis signed on with Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Johnson City all following that lead. Ms. Browne has recruited numerous Nashville celebrities to appear on behalf of the event including singer Amy Grant.

In 1998 Michelle orchestrated a special > exhibit at the request of the American Society of Association Executives to serve as their community service project in conjunction with ASAE's national convention held at Opryland Hotel and Convention Center. Thousands of Executive Directors from non-profit corporations across the country participated by donating the canned goods that created the Nashville Skyline including a 12' guitar resting atop a 20' gold record symbolizing Nashville's music industry. All of the food used in the structure was donated to Nashville's Second Harvest Food Bank.
The Second Harvest Food Bank has bestowed many honors on Ms. Browne for her volunteer efforts on their behalf, and in 1998 the American Institute of Architects/Tennessee Society presented her with the "Presidential Award of Merit" for her coordination and dedication to the event.

She is presently Executive Assistant at Looney Ricks Kiss Architects, an architectural, urban planning, and interior design firm. Past positions include providing administration to the design/build team at Earl Swensson Associates who built the world famous Opryland Hotel and to the President and Vice Presidents of Nashville Machine Company, a mechanical engineering/contracting firm. Prior to joining Looney Ricks Kiss, Michelle held an administrative position with the prominent southern structural engineering firm, Stanley D. Lindsey and Associates, Ltd.
In 1992 Ms. Browne joined the Society for Design Administration as a charter member of the Middle Tennessee Chapter. Since that time she has held the offices of Vice President, President Elect, two terms as President, and Director. She has also served SDA nationally on the public relations committee. Ms. Browne joined the National > Task Force in 1997 and since its incorporation as a non-profit in 1998 has served as Associate Director.
Ms. Browne is an accomplished musician, teaching and performing professionally in Nashville. -
