Mr. Kirwan Browne graduated from Trinity College, Dublin in 1970 with 1st Class Honours and 1st prize in Civil Engineering. He received the Edge Geology Prize, and the Engineering Society Gold Medal for Best Engineering paper on the salvaging and restoration of the warship Wasa.
He received his early practical training with the Office of Public Works, where he spent some years in the design of structures and coastal engineering protective works. He subsequently worked in private practice with Consulting Engineers before joining the office of McCabe, Delaney & Associates in 1974.
