Kevin Browne, general manager of Xbox new media and franchise development at Microsoft, said he's exploring the idea of letting advertisers help sponsor some games to help reduce the price, perhaps a year after the games debut.
Some advertisers in Asia have gone so far as to drop a few million dollars to sponsor the development of smaller budgeted games that players can access for free.
Browne said that despite all the promise and preparation, there is still a lot of work to be done to turn video games into a true advertising medium.
"We're very much at the birth of this industry," he said.
