   Rick is known to be one of the few independent Watchmakers, world wide, who will hand fashion a balance staff for an English pocket watch and diagnose and repair faulty circuitry in a customer's Seiko quartz wrist watch, all in the course of his daily work. Trained in "the old school", he has honoured his instructor's advice to "treat every timepiece you repair as though you were going to wear it yourself (or put it in your own home)".

   adjusting Accutron indexing In 1973 Rick Brownbill started his Watchmaking career at G. A. Whitman Jewellers in his home town of North Bay, Ontario. He attended George Brown College in Toronto for three years, and received his Ontario government Certified Watchrepairer certificate in 1976. From 1977 until 1985 Rick was in partnership with Ray Burnett at R&R Watch & Clock Repairs, in North Bay.

   Rick is a Certified Bulova Quartz Technician; he has passed technical quartz examinations administered by the American Watchmakers Institute and has been a member of the Ontario Watchmakers Association since 1976. Since moving to Orillia, Aime and Rick have won awards from the community and the local Chamber of Commerce for their business and social involvement.
