Though emergency patients are seen quickly, they still may have to wait in a common area, said Dr. Kevin Brown, the hospital's emergency room director.

Adding more private rooms is only a piece of the solution to reducing waiting time, Brown said.A whole series of systems and procedures needs to be developed to move patients through the various phases of an emergency room visit, he said.

"I think it's a good marketing strategy," said Brown, referring to the no-wait emergency room.
