For head coach Kenneth Brown, it was his first regional title at Boys Ranch.

"It feels awesome," Brown said.

McKay and Brown agreed that intensified workouts led to success

Boys Ranch coach Kenneth Brown said his runners were motivated somewhat by a perceived snub from the Cross Country Association of Texas poll.

"We dropped from first to fourth after the Round Rock meet, even though we beat Wall," Brown said.

Brown believes the Roughriders still have not peaked because of different training methods this fall.
