Joel Brown, a brother of Rev. Obediah, long pastor of the First Baptist Church, purchased the corner house and resided there some years.

Joel Brown from Covington Ga. was our guest speaker.Joel is an avid hunter and a retired Colonel & Chief of Law Enforcement with the DNR.He began his career with the DNR in 1968 in Randolph County Ga and served in many positions before retiring in 1998.Joel was ordained into the Gospel ministry in 1986 and served for several years as a bi-vocational pastor.At the present he and his wife Bernice are serving as coordinators of Bold Mission Builders, a mission construction team involving more than 450 volunteers from churches throughout Georgia.

Bro. Joel told of some of his experiences while serving as a ranger with the DNR and then gave a great presentation of what the Bible has to say about hunting and preserving wildlife.
