Aside from general fatigue and minor injuries, Walk for Education committee member Diane Brown said that the group had suffered other difficulties, such as "very dangerous roads" where there were "no sidewalks or crossings" for the marchers.

She added that despite difficulties as the group moved toward Davis, local police "took care" of the group at the onset of the journey.

"They made sure they were safe," she said.
