Amanda Brown and Debbie Tully, both 26, graduated together from the University of Winnipeg last spring and began teaching less than a month ago.

Brown grew up in Portage and graduated from Portage Collegiate Institute before beginning the five-year education program in Winnipeg. She now teaches Grade 3 at Yellowquill School.

Brown said her desire to teach developed in high school, when she took leadership classes, and from her experience as a swimming instructor.
