During her first externship (May-August 2007 at the Houston Eye Care Clinic), Dr. Brown managed patients' primary eye health, including diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, dry eye syndrome through insertion of punctual plugs; anterior and posterior segment disease; pre- and post-operative care with emphasis on cataract removal, and emergency eye care with expertise in foreign-body removal.

From August to December 2007 at the University of Houston College of Optometry (her in-house rotation), she became experienced in specialty contact lenses and performed RGP fits for patient with keratoconis, irregular corneas and post-graft patients. Dr. Brown also gained experience in low vision and pediatric treatments.

Dr. Brown completed her Bachelor of Science in 1996, and continued at the University of Waterloo, obtaining her Doctor of Optometry degree in the year 2000. After graduating, Dr. Brown entered into private practice at the Cambridge practice, and continued as a part time clinical supervisor at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. Dr. Brown is affiliated with the TLC laser eye centres, and has been thoroughly educated in laser eye surgery.
