Allen came to Plum Creek in March 1984 on the golf course construction crew.In the fall of 1984, he transferred to the golf course maintenance staff as the assistant mechanic.In 1985, he was promoted to the equipment manager and responsible for the repair and maintenance for the turf equipment.Upon graduating college with an Applied Science Degree in the spring of 1992, he was promoted to the assistant golf course superintendent where his main job duties included managing the day-to-day golf course operations with a staff of 18, under the golf course superintendent.In the fall of 1997, Allen was promoted to the golf course superintendent having full responsibility to manage the golf course and grounds department.Allen completed the Professional Certification Program through the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America in June 2005, giving him the designation of Certified Golf Course Superintendent (CGCS).
