A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING CAPTAIN ALLEN T. BROWN, RECIPIENT OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL

WHEREAS, Captain Allen T. Brown is the son of Dr. Jerry Milford Brown and Alberta Thompson Brown; and
...
WHEREAS, Captain Allen T. Brown graduated from Annandale High School in Annandale Virginia, and he attended Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science; and

WHEREAS, after graduation for Furman University, Captain Brown moved to Blythewood, South Carolina to work as a programmer for Policy Management Systems Corporation, which is now Computer Sciences Corporation; and

WHEREAS, Captain Allen T. Brown is married to Paige McLean Brown of Blythewood, and has two children, a four year-old son, McLean, and a one year-old daughter, McKenna; and he is an active member of the North Richland Optimist Club, and a member of Fairlawn United Methodist Church; and

WHEREAS, Captain Allen T. Brown served as an Engineer Corps officer in the Army Reserve from 1995 to 2005, progressing to the rank of Captain; his military awards and decorations include the Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Army Achievement Medal, the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, and the Bronze Star; and

WHEREAS, Captain Allen T. Brown received the Bronze Star for exemplary service during Operation Iraqi Freedom and his dedication to duty during combat contributing to the overwhelming success of his command's mission; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Councilman Joseph McEachern and Richland County Council recognizes Captain Allen T. Brown for unrelenting bravery and courage while fighting for the freedom of Iraq and ensuring the freedom of the United States of America.
