Mr. Brewton's practice focuses on administrative law, state and local government, corporate, and contract law.He has appeared in numerous administrative cases involving business regulation and environmental law.Mr. Brewton has broad experience in all areas of state government, having represented clients before the Florida Legislature, Governor and Cabinet, Departments of Transportation, Insurance, and Management Services.He has also appeared numerous times before the District Court of Appeals, and the Florida Supreme Court.

WILBUR E. BREWTON was born March 14, 1941 in Ocala, Florida.He was raised in Jacksonville, where he graduated from high school in 1959.In 1964, he received his undergraduate degree from Jacksonville University, and married Cheryl Kelley who received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida.Wilbur graduated from Law School in 1968 and joined the Governor's staff in Tallahassee, as Assistant Legal Counsel to the Governor.Wilbur was later appointed Assistant Executive Director and General Counsel to the State Department of Business Regulation.He has been in private practice in Tallahassee since 1971 and is the managing partner of the Tallahassee office.

Wilbur's experience in the practice of law is varied, with an emphasis on administrative law, state and local government, corporate and contract law.He has appeared in numerous administrative cases involving business regulation and environmental law.He was appointed by the Insurance Commissioner to become General Counsel to the Florida Birth-Related Neurological Injury Compensation Association from 1989 to 1994 and was primarily responsible for implementing the Association on behalf of the state.Wilbur was also selected by the Governor to organize a quasi-governmental corporation, which privatized the State's correctional work programs.Wilbur has broad experience in all areas of state government, having represented clients before the Florida Legislature, the Governor and Cabinet, the Departments of Business and Professional Regulation, Natural Resources, Environmental Protection, Transportation, Insurance, Management Services, as well as extensive appearances before the District Courts of Appeal and the Florida Supreme Court.

He is currently a Managing Partner (Tallahassee) of Roetzel & Andress, L.P.A. and formerly with Brewton, Plante & Plante, P.A., and Gray, Harris & Robinson, P.A.

The law firm of Roetzel & Andress is pleased to announce that partner Wilbur Brewton was recently elected president of the Governor's Club for 2005.

The Governor's Club, a premier private club in Tallahassee, has members from all over the state of Florida, including chief executive officers and other key officers and directors of major businesses in the state.Mr. Brewton has served as a Governor's Club board member since 2000, and in 2004 served as vice president and finance and audit chair.His term as president will run through December 2005.

Mr. Brewton, Partner-in-Charge of the Tallahassee office, focuses his practice on Administrative Law, Appellate Law, Corporate and Business Services, Public Law and Finance, and Government Relations.He is AV rated by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, and was a member of the Governor's staff in Tallahassee as assistant legal counsel to the Governor, and assistant executive director and general counsel to the State Department of Business Regulation.Mr. Brewton is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Florida Blue Key, the Florida Economic Club, the Tiger Bay Club, and Who's Who in the South.He is also on the Board of Trustees for Florida House, Inc.

Mr. Brewton earned a master of income tax law (LLM) degree, Top 10% of Class, from the University of Florida, a juris doctorate degree, Top 10% of Class, from Stetson University College of Law, and a bachelor of science degree from Jacksonville University.

Wilbur Brewton was recently elected vice president and chair of the finance and audit committee for the Governors Club.He is a managing partner in the law firm's Tallahassee office.
