   MADISON - Eve C. Bretthauer, age 62, of Madison died after a brief, but courageous battle with small cell lung cancer on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at University Hospital.

   Eve graduated from Edgerton High School on March 29, 1957. She married Richard Bretthauer in September 1961. She loved traveling, especially to Las Vegas; she also enjoyed reading, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a very dedicated registered nurse, and clinical instructor at Central Wisconsin Center for 27 years. She is survived by her three children, Clark (Diane) Bretthauer of Edgerton, Brad Bretthauer of Madison, and Teresa Bretthauer of Madison; three brothers, Donald Kenseth of Arbor Vitae, Sidney (Dianne) Kenseth of Edgerton, and Kieth Kenseth of Florida; three grandchildren, Ricky, Tylor and Jack Bretthauer; dear niece and friend, Linda Kenseth; former husband and friend, Richard Bretthauer; numerous other nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Kenseth; and a sister-in law, Grace Kenseth. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., with the Rev. Dr. Doug Dowling officiating. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Eve was a loyal, dedicated and loving, wife, mother, friend and caretaker.
