Blue Mountains City Church has backed the school's campaign, with its senior pastor Marilyn Brett adding her support to the safety call.

In 1998, Marilyn Brett joined the faculty as Principal of the Hillsong School, replacing Cathy Coluccio as well as Max Zalakos, who was Principal of the Leadership College from 1991 to 1997.

Marilyn was born and raised in Scotland and became a Christian in 1970 before embarking on teaching career.She learnt piano and guitar from an early age and had an established singing ministry in the UK until she and her husband moved to New Zealand in 1975.

In 1980 Marilyn and her husband pioneered a church on the New South Wales Central Coast.During 17 years of pastoral ministry, Marilyn gained more experience in dance and drama; training worship leaders and musicians, ran her own private music studio, directed and wrote musical productions, recorded a solo album, and continued studies in piano and voice.

Marilyn has also studied counselling with the National Christian Counsellors' Association (NCCA).
