    Jim Brett is in his seventh season as an assistant coach with the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball program in 2008.His duties include working with all aspects of the team's offensive drills as well as coaching the outfielders and catchers.

    Prior to Stevens, Brett recorded a successful amateur career at The Peddie School in Hightstown, N.J. During his tenure there, Brett was named a first-team Prep A all-state pitcher and catcher.He was also selected as the Prep Player of the Year in his senior year.

    Following his time at Peddie, Brett continued his career by playing for Fairfield University, which is a NCAA Division I program that competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.As a Stag, Brett was a versatile player and saw time at several positions.In his senior year, Brett was primarily a relief pitcher but he was an integral part of the most successful season in the program's history , one in which Fairfield recorded 26 wins and advanced to the finals of the MAAC Tournament.

    Brett, who holds a B.S. degree in Marketing from Fairfield, currently resides in Lincroft, N.J. with his wife, Heather.

    Jim Brett enters his fifth season as an assistant coach under John Crane in 2006.Over the years, Brett has been instrumental in the development of the program.His duties include working with all aspects of the team's offensive drills as well as coaching the outfielders and catchers.

    Brett joined the Stevens' staff after a successful amateur career during which he was named a first-team Prep A all-state pitcher and catcher while playing at The Peddie School in Hightstown, N.J. During his senior season, Brett was selected as the Prep Player of the Year.He was also a first-team all-state selection in football.

    Brett continued his amateur career by playing for Fairfield University, an NCAA Division I program that competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.Brett was a versatile player for the Stags and saw time at several positions.During his senior season, Brett primarily pitched out of the bullpen and was an integral part of the most successful season in program history - one in which the Stags recorded 26 wins and advanced to the MAAC Tournament finals.

    Currently, Brett is an active player and manager in the Westchester Rockland Wood Bat League for the Rockland Cavaliers.The WRWBL is one of the metropolitan area's most-respected collegiate/recreational leagues and includes more than 300 players.The 16-team organization is ranked as one of the Top-10 amateur leagues in the country by the independent National Semi-Pro Baseball Association.Brett's Rockland team, which is made up of numerous ex-pro/college players, is ranked in the Top-50 in the nation by the NSPBA.

    Brett, who resides in Hoboken, N.J., received his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Fairfield and currently works in New York City as an Assistant Vice President for Countrywide Commercial Real Estate, Inc.
