David joined Thompson Dorfman Sweatman as an articling student in 1976 and was with the firm until 1990 as an associate and partner. In 1990 he left to pursue a career in business. Over the following 10 years he held executive positions responsible for a full range of strategic and operational areas, including law, regulation and regulatory change, strategic planning and marketing including web-based strategies, corporate development, government and media relations, human resources and labour relations. He returned to Thompson Dorfman Sweatman in 2000.
David has participated several times as lecturer or panellist at the Isaac Pitblado Lectures Series. As well he has been a featured speaker at many energy and utility regulation conferences, and at private corporate functions.
