Ted was a graduate of John Marshall High School in Richmond and the University of Richmond.Following his graduation, he went to work for Texaco where he served as a district sales manager from 1959 until 1972.After that time, he also held management positions with Allied Towing Corp., J. Henry Holland Co., and the Harding Company.He was a member of the Town Point Club, was a former member of the Lions Club, the Cavalier Yacht and Country Club and the Masons.

Survivors include her husband, Robert P. Sebrell; two daughters, Sherry S. Parker and husband the Rev. Philip of Suffolk and Lynn S. Woody and husband Joseph W. IV of Chesterfield, Va.; a sister, Hilda Drake of Newsoms, Va.; a brother, Edwin Brett of Murfreesboro, N.C.; four grandchildren, Joy Watkins, Timothy Parker, Kelly Woody and J.W. Woody.
