    Sandra has worked in healthcare for over 30 years as a clinician, supervisor and administrator.She believes in the important contribution that each individual makes in discovering and implementing new strategies and solutions and has had opportunities to facilitate groups and coach individuals to achieve successful outcomes.

    Sandra welcomes the opportunity to discuss both the art of research and practice in leadership and management as an instructor in RHSC 583 Applying Research to Practice.She has experienced the richness of online communication as both an online tutor and online learner.Sandra is a licensed occupational therapist and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, University of British Columbia.

    Previously she was the Director of Therapy and Administrator for Communication Development, Speech Therapy and Audiology at the Children's and Women's Health Centre of British Columbia, in Vancouver.Her leadership and management experience has also developed through years of volunteer experience on various health professional committee and boards, interagency and provincial government task forces.At the present time, Sandra is the Past-President of the Canadian Occupational Therapy Foundation, the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists Delegate to the World Foundation of Occupational Therapists, and a member of the Inquiry Committee for the College of Occupational Therapists of B.C.

    Sandra earned a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from McGill University and a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University.In 2004, she received the award of Fellow of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
