Ting W. Bresnahan, 29
...
After five years of flying, Ting Bresnahan was tired. Her job in information-technology consulting meant she flew away each Monday and returned home, exhausted, each Thursday."I never see my husband, I never see the city, I can never work on the house," Bresnahan realized, soon after she moved to Richmond two years ago.So she decided to start again, this time in a profession that engaged her creative side. She took an unpaid volunteer position as a graphic designer for the Children's Museum of Richmond, despite friends' warnings that volunteer work would never lead to a full-time job.In Bresnahan's case, it did.Now she's in charge of in-house promotional materials for the museum. From her office, she says, "I can hear kids screaming that they don't want to go home."Bresnahan also manages fund-raising for the Junior League of Richmond, runs with the Navy SEAL fitness team, and designs and sells vintage-inspired baby wear for the company she co-founded, The Paisley Kerchief.
