Alfred Bresnahan
WATERBURY, Conn. -- Alfred Bresnahan, 79, formerly of Academy Avenue, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at Cook Willow Health Center in Plymouth. He was the devoted husband of Marjorie (Patrick) Bresnahan.
Mr. Bresnahan was born Jan. 24, 1923, in Waterbury, son of the late Laurence and Julia (Duer) Bresnahan. He worked as a tool setter and in maintenance for the Waterbury Company, retiring after 45 years, and was a UAW union member. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Waterbury Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was avid golfer and enjoyed golfing at East Mountain Golf Course in Waterbury, and also enjoyed gardening. He was a member of Charumba Ballroom Dancing Club.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Lawrence A. Bresnahan of Virginia; a brother, Frank Bresnahan of Florida; two grandchildren, Sharon Bresnahan of Waterbury and Sandra Stankiewicz of Thomaston; and two great-grandchildren, Brianna and Nicole Stankiewicz, both of Thomaston.
A prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St., Historic Downtown Waterbury. Burial will follow Old Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
