   ANNAPOLIS, MD. (April 1, 2005) -- Anne Arundel Medical Center has appointed Mary Jo Breslin, RN, BSN, MS, director of Process Improvement for Surgical Services.
   
   As director, Ms. Breslin will assist in bringing clinical and business initiatives in alignment with the health system's strategic plan. She will also collaborate with the Medical Staff, managers, and the Surgical Services staff to ensure the hospital's goals are supported by these initiatives.
   
   Ms. Breslin has an extensive clinical and management background. She comes to AAMC from her position as consultant for J2 Group, a health systems management service focused on project management and customized assessment for Surgical Services. She has also served as director of Perioperative Services for University of Maryland Medical Center and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.
   
   Ms. Breslin received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Catholic University and a Masters of Health Care Administration from the University of Maryland Medical College. She is active in a number of professional associations, including the Association of Perioperative Nurses and the Capital Area Roundtable for Informatic Nurses, and lives in Crofton.
