· Jeff Bresler, Facilities Team Facilitator, opened the meeting.Jeff welcomed everyone.Jeff asked us to introduce ourselves or someone else at our table by using three adjectives to describe ourselves.Group members introduced themselves/and or table partners.Group consists of parents, grandparents, teachers, community members, administrators, directors-the majority are parents.

· Jeff reviewed the charge statement and asked team members to spend time reviewing the charge statement on our own before the next meeting

· Jeff explained that we will be working three evenings to come up with a plan to present to the LRPC.Jeff answered three questions, what is the time commitment (three meetings), will we get out on time and will we have homework?

· Jeff reviewed the four strategic areas, Academic Achievement, Facilities (includes approximately 50+ people here at this meeting this evening), Technology and Finance.Jeff thanked everyone for giving their time and acknowledged that we are all here because we value what is important for children.

· Jeff reviewed our strategy-our group has one strategy-"We will provide state-of-the-art facilities."

· Jeff reviewed and described team member roles (Yellow Handout in Packet).He reviewed his job as facilitator-someone in the room as a co-facilitator (parent) to coordinate and help communicate the work of this team to the LRPC.He described most of us as Action Team Members-identified and introduced Resource People, the need for a secretary, a time keeper, and observers.

· Team members were asked to put name on pink cards.In addition, write the role we would like to play on the pink card and leave the card with Jeff this evening.

· Jeff facilitated the establishment of "ground rules/norms"-what we can agree upon as a group.Norms established by group:

· Jeff identified Bernard Library as our meeting place (centrally located) and future meeting dates, February 3, 9 and 17.Time from 7-9 p.m.Jeff encouraged everyone's participation, but acknowledged that it might be hard for everyone to make every meeting.Jeff encouraged the use of a "partner" to call if a team member misses a meeting to catch up with the work of the team.

· Jeff reviewed Homework (strategy analysis form).He explained the form and our job to answer the questions prior to the next meeting.Jeff described our work as "fun but hard".

· Jeff asked for questions for the "good of the group".He mentioned that visiting other sites may be part of our homework, adding additional dates besides the already scheduled meeting dates.He encouraged people to take packets for people who could not be present this evening.He encouraged e-mailing him at anytime, breslerj@mehlville.K12.mo.us.He stated that he is looking forward to the next meeting and working with the group.

Jeff Bresler, Facilities Team Facilitator, opened the meeting.Jeff reminded everyone to sign-in and make sure their e-mail address is correct on the sign-in sheet.Jeff also told everyone to be sure they had a copy of the handouts for tonight's meeting-Meeting Minutes from February 3, Agenda for February 9 and Question Sheet (developed from February 3 meeting).

Jeff reviewed the last meeting, the work done on the T-charts and clarifying "what our strategy is about" and "what our strategy is not about."He reviewed the development of the questions we wanted answered and the need for more information/resources to answer the questions.

Jeff identified tonight's goal: look at the questions, find resources to answer questions from documents provided this evening, and to develop "activities" in response to the answers to the questions.

Jeff compared our work this evening to his recent experience with buying a house.First we need to develop our "dream/wish" list without considering the cost.Jeff described the cost/funding considerations as a different stage of the process.Right now we are at the dreaming stage, forming aspirations of where we want to go.

· Jeff reminded the team of what we need to accomplish by February 22.On February 22, Jeff and John, will present "result statements" to the LRPC.

· Jeff stated that our focus is becoming clearer and will be even more clear next week.We were encouraged to go to resource persons (467-5002) for any further questions/answers.

· We were given 5 post-its.For our homework we are to identify up to 5 activities (one on each post-it) that are most important to achieve our strategy-to look at the answers to our questions and define an activity as the "next step".
