Mr. Breshears earned his bachelor of arts in Music Education and master's degree in Education from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. He received a specialist degree in Secondary School Administration from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
After teaching music at Norborne public schools, he became the youngest superintendent of schools in Missouri at Wheatland. He returned to CMSU in 1972 in the Department of Continuing Education and was later associate vice president for Administrative Affairs. He entered private business at Mobay Industries, in charge of human resources, and later joined Harmon Industries as vice president of Human Resources and Environmental Activities, where he retired in 2001.
He raised Maine Anjou cattle and taught management courses at CMSU. He was president of the Western Missouri Medical Center board of trustees in Warrensburg and the board of directors of Johnson County Special Services. He attended the Christian Church in Knob Noster and had been a member of the Knob Noster school board, the Governor's Council for Training and Development and a former board member of the National Maine Anjou Cattle Association.
Survivors also include two sons, Chad Breshears, of Springfield, and Adam Breshears, of Warrensburg; two daughters, Meredith Breshears and Paige Breshears, both of Warrensburg; his mother, Gladys Breshears, of Warrensburg; and two brothers, Boyne Breshears, of Lone Jack, and Neal Breshears, of Stockton. -
