The Greg Brentnall Club 18 Coterie Trophy will be presented to the player voted by the C18 C members as the Storm "Player of the Year".
C18C members nominate their best player at each home game, while Greg Brentnall, the Melbourne Storm Football Manager, will select on behalf of C18C Members, his best player from the away games.
Greg was one of the most celebrated fullbacks of his era.He took control of the Melbourne Storm Football Manager position at the end of 2000.
Before that Greg had lent considerable experience to the Storm as assistant coach, recruitment and development over the first three years, but is now responsible for the day-to-day running of the Football Department.
Originally from Wagga Wagga in NSW, Greg played seven years with Canterbury Bankstown alongside former Storm head coach Chris Anderson.During that time he won a premiership with the Bulldogs in 1980, went on tours of New Zealand and England while also representing City, Country and New South Wales.
Greg played in the inaugural State Of Origin game for NSW against Queensland in 1980 at Lang Park in Brisbane.
He won the highest individual accolade afforded first grade players when he took out the 1982 Rothmans Medal.He finished his career playing 13 tests for Australia and 10 state games.Greg joined the Storm from the Canberra Raiders where he worked as regional recruitment and development manager in 1997.
