   The Institute of Export has announced the appointment of Richard Brentnall, pictured, as its new marketing and communications manager. He will be known to many for his training role in which he specialises in international marketing planning and channel management. A full member of the Institute, he brings a wealth of international experience and an excellent track record in marketing and project management, gained from a career with a variety of manufacturing and retailing operations. Mr Brentnall will be promoting all of the Institute's core activities.

   Picture of Dick Brentnall Dick Brentnall has spent many years working in senior marketing, sales and training positions for prominent international and UK companies. His responsibilities have ranged from the marketing and selling of consumer products through to retailing. He has recently spent 16 years with British American Tobacco and formerly worked at Ross Foods Ltd, C.W.S (Co-operative Wholesale Society Ltd), Marks & Spencer PLC, Tesco Holdings.
   
   Whilst his early career was spent working in the UK, he subsequently gained practical international export marketing and sales experience in Europe, Middle East, West Africa, the Far East and, for at least eight years, working in the Americas.
   
   In 1996, Dick set up a Marketing and Training consultancy (D.B. International Training). He works with clients in the UK public and private sectors as well as undertaking overseas assignments particularly in the USA. He has now successfully carried numerous marketing assignments with individuals and companies who work in many types of industries.
   
   He is a Joint Export Training Standards (JETS) accredited trainer awarded by the British Chambers of Commerce and the Institute of Export. He is a member of the British Consultants Bureau (BCB), the Sales Training Association and a Member of the Institute of Export
   
   Overseas, he is an allied member of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO), an associate member of the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) and a member of the National Retail Federation (NRF) in the USA.
