   Dr. Paul Brenner is a physician and counseling psychologist.He is the author of many books and has lectured throughout the United States, Europe and Asia on the psychology of health and illness and the unconscious patterns that run our lives.Also, corporations such as Wal- Mart, Microsoft, Disney, Disney International, Fleetwood International and Rhino Records have used Dr. Brenner's "Family Triangle Process" for team building and understanding the reason why individuals fall into given categories when tested by various psychological inventories.
   
   Widely recognized in both the medical community and self-help field, Dr. Paul Brenner is an obstetrician/gynecologist and psychologist who left his successful clinical and academic practice of obstetrics, gynecology, and female cancer surgery in 1976 to counsel individuals with life-threatening illnesses.
   
   For the past forty years, Dr. Brenner's journey has taken him beyond his own traditional medical practice and led to his study of other healing arts with healers throughout the world.From this exploration, which included integrative medicine, hypnosis, acupuncture, meditation, and energy medicine, he has redefined for himself what health is: no more and no less than the acceptance and appreciation of life.Further, health is not simply the absence of illness, and the key to health and well-being resides in the psycho-dynamics of personal relationships.As Dr. Brenner came to realize that we all have an innate wisdom of what's right for our bodies, he crystallizes the hope that there is a better alternative to our definition of heath.
   
   Dr. Brenner continues to counsel the chronically ill, maintains an appointment in the Behavioral Studies department at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, and is a corporate consultant.He is the Director of the SafeReach Institute in Idyllwild, California, for the understanding of human relationships and how they affect health and illness.He also holds a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology and is the creator of Family Triangles process.
   
   At the forefront of the complementary medicine movement, Dr. Brenner organized The Mandala Conference in 1974, which featured presentations by the top proponents of the day, including Dr. Bernie Siegel, Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Carl Simonton, and Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross.

   Lecturing extensively throughout the United States and Europe, Dr. Brenner has also reached national audiences as moderator of the PBS Series "Healing Through Communication."In addition to his book, Buddha in the Waiting Room, he is the author of Health is a Question of Balance; Life is a Shared Creation, which was a Rollo May Book of the Year selection, and Seeing Your Life Through New Eyes: InSights to Freedom from Your Past, and Love Made Visible.With audiences across the country and around the world, Dr. Brenner shares his wisdom regarding how addictive behavior takes us out of the experience of life, the creative process of change, and good health.
   
   Dr. Brenner's honors include the Life Devotion Award received in Taiwan, The San Diego Enlightenment Award and The University of California San Diego School of Medicine Physicians Teaching Award.He has appeared on Public Television and moderated the award winning K.P.B.S series, Healing Through Communication.
   
   Dr. Brenner received his B.A. from Brown University, his M.D. from New York Medical College and held an American Cancer Fellowship in Female Oncology.He received his Ph.D. in psychology from The International University of Professional Psychology.
   
   Dr. Brenner lives in San Diego with his wife Deborah, and he is a father of four children.

   Dr. Paul Brenner is an obstetrician/gynecologist whose subspecialty is female cancer surgery.He also holds a Ph.D. in counseling psychology.His experience in counseling the dying profoundly changed and enriched his life, leading him to redefine health, illness and healing, and how these stages of health are related to interpersonal relationships.
   
   These experiences spurred Paul to move from his role as professor at the University of California San Diego in female oncology and chair of the OB/GYN department at Scripps Memorial Hospital to refocusing his work on the psychodynamics that influence health and illness.His primary focus is the search for understanding the underlying causes of both health and illness.Paul is a visionary and healer who examines the unseen, psychological patterns have ramification on physical health and works to instill these concepts into integrative medicine.
   
   Paul has studied with Native American, Latin American and Asian healers in his attempt to widen his traditional medical training.In 1974, he organized the first conference in holistic medicine, joined the board of the American Holistic Medical Association and was influential in holistic medicine's evolution to complementary medicine.Paul is an international speaker and the author of four books.He was the2004 recipient of the Life Devotion Award presented by the Cultural Foundation in Taiwan.
