Janice I. Brenner: Founder and Executive Director Board start date: June 1976 (inception of the school) Work Experience: Janice has been leading the Holden School since its inception in 1976. Her work includes all aspects of the school's operation including direct work with students as well as budget and plant management. Janice is also on the faculty of the Graduate School of Education of Cambridge College where she teaches teachers. From 1984 through 1996, Janice was also employed by Project Place in Boston where she ran a counseling program for middle school students in Boston and convened "Family Resource Days" for homeless families.
In November 2002, the Business and Professional Women Association recognized Janice's 25 years of service and she was honored with the "Women Mean Business" award. Along with the award, Janice was recognized by then-Governor Jane Swift for her leadership in Boston's profession of special education and also for her success at the Holden School. -
