   Mr. James Brenner (Jim) is the senior instructor at Lititz World Tang Soo Do. He currently holds the rank of Sam Dan or 3rd Degree Black Belt. He also possesses qualities that rank him among one of the most respected and loved instructors by the children at our studio. It is quite evident when Mr. Brenner leads his class that the kids he teaches kick it into another gear for him. Some people have "it" and whatever "it" is, Mr. Brenner seems to have it in abundance.
   
   Mr. Brenner would like to use this forum to raise awareness about a disease called Parkinson's disease. Most students and parents are probably not aware, but Mr. Brenner was diagnosed with this debilitating disease in July 1999 when he was just 29 years old.

   Those of us who have known Jim for years have understood his struggles and have kept this from our students. Jim has taken great pride in continuing his training and teaching while fighting this battle and didn't want his disease to be a focal point at the studio. It was only through the urging of his friends and family, that Mr. Brenner decided to share this information with his students via this website. They felt that Mr. Brenner could be an inspiration to each of us that believes we have issues that are hampering our training. Our "issues" pale in comparison. Mr. Brenner has his sights set on a fourth stripe and anyone betting against him attaining his dream would be foolish. Those of us who have known him since this disease has changed his path know that the indomitable spirit rages within him.
   
   As the parent of a young child considering martial arts training, we urge you to come to watch as Mr. Brenner takes his students through a class. Although they work hard, they seem to enjoy every physical and mental challenge he puts forth. It's obvious for all to see that Mr. Brenner gets great pleasure from the progress of his young students, as do all the instructors at LWTSD. Mr. Brenner has six children of his own (two boys and four girls) and obviously takes great pride in not only being a father but an instructor of children as well. He's not quite as popular with us older, more out of shape adults, however, but we adore him just the same!
   
   Mr. Brenner is also a student of Tang Soo Do history and tradition. Mr. Brenner has a very large library of Tang Soo Do books from various authors. Mr. Brenner is a firm believer of holding fast to the traditional training and protocol of Tang Soo Do. When you train in one of Mr. Brenner's classes you will do more than just sweat, you may get a lesson on proper protocol or the history of Tang Soo Do. Mr. Brenner always tries to have a balance of body, mind, and spirit in each of his classes.
   
   Mr. Brenner was born September 9, 1969 in Lancaster and graduated from Warwick High School. He is currently employed at Sturgis International as a supervisor. He began his Tang Soo Do training in July 1991 under then owner and chief instructor of Lititz World Tang Soo Do, Mr. Robert Recher. Mr. Brenner also has training in Kung Fu, Kickboxing, Hapkido and Judo. When Mr. Brenner has any spare time he collects DVDs. Mr. Brenner is very busy with his most recent addition to his family, sweet, little, Noelle.
