Dr. David D. Brenner

My local newspaper interviewed Dave Brenner, the head curator of Amaranth at the USDA, who has the previous world record for Amaranth at 15 ft. 1 inch.He plans on taking another expidition into the swamps of Florida looking for taller specimens to collect seeds from and take back the record.Next year I plan on using most of my land for corn.

Dr. David Brenner, Curator in the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System, United States Department of Agriculture and Iowa State University, for sending us specially selected seeds of quinoa and chenopodium.

We contacted David Brenner is a researcher who takes part in the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System.Dr. Brenner is the curator of Amaranthus, Celosia, Chenopodium, Coronilla, Dalea, Galega, Melilotus, Perilla, and Spinacia at the Plant Introduction Station, Iowa State University.In an e-mail dated Dec. 14, 1998, Dr. Brenner stated" I have seen Amaranths grown on the edge of maize fields in Pakistan, and wondered why.

We have been growing amaranth seed increases for the WORLD'S amaranth expert, David Brenner.The seeds we grew out last year are now at Reiman Gardens.Dave holds the Guinness Book of World Records for world's tallest amaranth.Dave is the curator for amaranth, clover, and many other species at the Plant Introduction Station that maintains seed lines of plants, much like a seed-saving operation for future crop improvements.
