Daniel Leon Brenner
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Daniel Leon Brenner, a former president of the University of Missouri Board of Curators and a leader in Jewish organizations, died Friday.He was 97.
Brenner was appointed to the Board of Curators in 1977 and rose to board president in 1980.
He was an acting judge of the Jackson County Circuit Court in 1943 and 1944.
In the 1950s, Brenner was president of the B'nai B'rith Council of Greater Kansas City, the national commissioner of B'nai B'rith Hillel Foundations, and president of the Jewish Federation and Council of Greater Kansas City.
At a 1965 meeting in Tel Aviv, Israel, Brenner was elected international vice president of B'nai B'rith, a post he held until 1971.The Jewish Theological Seminary of America named him Man of the Year in 1967.
