    Central Highlands Water CEO Neil Brennan said the stormwater was crucial in getting the water mix right.

    Neil Brennan, Managing Director of CHW said that for the first time this winter, last week's rainfall delivered significant inflows into the local catchments."The rainfall recently received has laid the foundation for continuing inflows at a good level if average or above average winter and spring rains continue" Mr Brennan said.The additional inflow of 440 mega litres has seen Reservoir levels in the Ballarat & District water supply system increase by 0.6 % to 9.1% in the past week.

    Mr Brennan said that over the next 8 - 10 weeks, local rainfall will be critical to increasing local storages to a point where a review of water restrictions could be considered.CHW Board and Management are continually monitoring storage levels, not only in the Ballarat & District water supply system but across all 15 supply systems in the Central Highlands region.

    Currently Ballarat is one of 97 towns across Victoria on Stage 4 Water Restrictions.Mr Brennan said that CHW customers are to be congratulated on their efforts in conserving water and have regularly used less than the target of 25 mega litres per day or 150 litres per person.

    Central Highlands Water Managing Director, Mr Neil Brennan said the Corporation is thrilled that the project remains on schedule to commence operations at the end of June this year.

    "We are delighted to have about 90 per cent of the project completed from a construction point of view after only nine months," said Mr Brennan.
