Neil Brennan, Managing Director of CHW said that for the first time this winter, last week's rainfall delivered significant inflows into the local catchments."The rainfall recently received has laid the foundation for continuing inflows at a good level if average or above average winter and spring rains continue" Mr Brennan said.The additional inflow of 440 mega litres has seen Reservoir levels in the Ballarat & District water supply system increase by 0.6 % to 9.1% in the past week.
Mr Brennan said that over the next 8 - 10 weeks, local rainfall will be critical to increasing local storages to a point where a review of water restrictions could be considered.CHW Board and Management are continually monitoring storage levels, not only in the Ballarat & District water supply system but across all 15 supply systems in the Central Highlands region.
