Michael P. Brennan received his B.S. (cum laude) in Chemistry and B.S. (cum laude) in Biology from Aquinas College in 1976; he received his J.D. (magna cum laude) from the University of Detroit in 1981.Mike joined HD&P in 1984 after three years with the Office of the General Counsel for The Procter & Gamble Company, becoming a partner in the firm in 1987.After 12 years in the Litigation Group, Mike moved his emphasis to strategic counseling involving inventions, trademarks, service marks, e-commerce and licensing issues.Mike has lectured on many topics, including substantive and procedural patent and trademark law; discovery in intellectual property litigation; taking and defending expert depositions; GATT; and the interface between intellectual property law and U.S. Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act law and regulation.He is an officer of the Intellectual Property Law Institute, a consortium of U.S. and Canadian law schools formed to broaden the scope of intellectual property education available to their respective students.He is also a contributing author, Intellectual Property Litigation: Pretrial Practice Guide (John Wiley & Sons) published in the fall of 1996 (ISBN: 0-471-12622-5), now in its second edition.
