  A Chartered Member of the Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), Maurice graduated from the University of Aston with a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Health.In a long career in Environmental Health he worked in a variety of inner city, urban and rural locations as an Environmental Health Practitioner.In 2002, he completed a MBA at the University of Gloucestershire, prior to leaving local government as a Chief Officer in 2003 to take up the post of Head of Teaching in the Division of Environmental Health and Risk Management.He is the Course Leader for the MSc in Environmental Health and the MSc in Public and Environmental Health Sciences.Elected a Fellow of the CIEH in 2005, he is also a Member of the Institute of Housing; a Peer Reviewer for Healthy Communities for the Improvement and Development Agency; and a CIEH Professional Assessor.

  Maurice Brennan graduated from Aston University with an Honours Degree in Environmental Health and had a long career in local government as an Environmental Health Practitioner.He has worked for inner city, urban and rural local authorities and his experience covers all the major functions provided by Environmental Health and related fields.His last appointment was as Head of Health and Environment at Cotswold District Council where he managed the Environmental Health, Housing, Waste Management and Licensing Services.He had corporate responsibility for developing the Council's key Local Strategic Partnerships in relation to Community Health.He has a Masters Degree from the University of Gloucestershire in Business Management and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and the Chartered Institute of Housing.He was appointed as Head of Teaching, Division of Environmental Health and Risk Management, School of Geography, Earth and Environment Sciences at the University of Birmingham, in April 2003.
