John Brennan, NDD, MA, FRSA, John Brennan has a Masters degree in music and publishing, and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. In 1975 he founded ‘Positif Press' which specializes in the publication of books, journals and music for the organ. The range of titles published to date covers all aspects of organ history and construction, including tuning, the calculation of pipe scales, the design of new instruments, and organ and keyboard music.
John is co-founder of The Organbuilder journal, which is published by Positif Press, and is also a founder member of the British Institute of Organ Studies (BIOS), having published their annual Journal since its inception. He is co-author of The Classical Organ in Britain, 1955-1990 (published in three volumes), and has contributed articles and reviews to various organ journals.
John studied the organ with James Dalton (Queens College, Oxford) and is now Director of Music at Greyfriars RC Church, Oxford.
